It's been a while since the last Kuro Obi Newsletter. Most of the information that you needed was in the IFKKA newsletters that have been coming out. Easter Holiday Schedule30th March - Friday - NO CLASSES Newtown or Petersham 2nd April - Monday - Petersham classes are on! Four days without karate is just too many! :-) Clicker Tournament25th MarchWe had a good turnout and a great tournament! Congratulations to all the competitors. You fought hard against strong (and sometimes bigger) opposition and you did the best you could, with excellent results. For some of you, it was the first time you'd been at a tournament, and you did very well! I hope that keeps you inspired for the next one. There will be more photos on Facebook as soon as we can sort them out. You've already been sent the results, so I won't send them to you again. School Holiday Schedule14th-29th AprilWhile this is still sometime off, I'm sure you're already planning for it. Just reminding you that Newtown classes are not on during the school holidays, but Newtown students are encouraged to come along to Petersham. I may however have to go to NZ to look after my mother for one week during that time, and there may be some class cancellations as a consequence. I will keep you posted. Fighting Fit SeminarSaturday 5th MayThis is the first of the Fighting Fit seminars with Sensei Mark Mitchell, and is just in time for the upcoming Full Contact tournament. Details to follow soon. Full Contact TournamentSunday 27th MayPut this in your calendar. This will not only be for adults, but as before there will semi-contact opportunities for juniors too. Keep an eye on your email for details. June Junior GradingSunday, June 3rdJust so that you can put this in your calendar. Note that if you are 9th kyu or higher, and have not been to camp, seminar, or a tournament since your last grading, you will have to be very, very, very good with your grading requirements to qualify to grade, regardless of the hours you may have. Bear in mind that if you HAVE been been at camp, seminar, or a tournament, you still have to be very good! March Grading Results10 March 2018I'm pleased to report that the following people succeeded at this event.
